  • Air-Fried Excellence – I love a recipe that uses the air fryer because the food gets the wonderful external crunch while still being nice and juicy inside, and all without extra grease!

Air Fryer – An air fryer is actually a convection cooker that circulates hot air around the food so that it cooks evenly. This even heating is what leads to the familiar crispy you get in air-fried foods, but the best part is that this style of cooking does not require added fat.

If you do not have an air fryer you can prepare this  Stuffed Chicken With Spinach And Cheese Recipe chicken as directed and then instead of frying, bake it in the oven. It can bake in the oven at 375°F for about 30 to 40 minutes.

Chicken BreastsChicken breast gets a bad reputation because on its own it’s a little boring, but in this spectacularly easy recipe basic chicken gets a delicious makeover. With this simple stuffing technique and tons of cheesy spinach-infused flavor, these chicken breasts are transformed into a tasty indulgence.
Start with fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breast. Don’t worry too much about trimming because you will butterfly it during the cooking process. If you need to use previously frozen chicken, make sure it is fully thawed before getting started.

Ricotta – An Italian favorite, ricotta is a luscious cheesy treat! It has a soft texture that makes it perfect for melty dishes like this! The flavor of ricotta is creamy with a pleasantly mild sweetness that counters the leafy spinach so well, but if you cannot find this cheese try substituting it with cottage cheese.

Parmesan Cheese – Although Parmesan is another classic Italian cheese it is totally different from ricotta. Unlike ricotta, parmesan is aged to give it a more distinct nutty and tangy flavor and hard texture.

Mozzarella Cheese – If you live for the stretchy cheese moment then you need mozzarella. It’s an awesomely melty and stretchable semi-soft cheese with so much light dairy flavor.

Egg – Fresh egg acts as a binder and flavor enhancer in this unforgettable filling! Adding egg helps the cheesy filling hold together better and it brings extra protein to this filling recipe.

Spinach – Even though this is a chicken recipe, spinach is the star! It has a wonderfully sweet and leafy freshness that balances the meaty and cheesy notes in this Stuffed Chicken With Spinach And Cheese Recipe dish. Plus, spinach is loaded with helpful nutrients, like potassium and vitamins B6 and C.
Fresh spinach is always the first choice due to its texture and flavor, but in a jam, you can substitute frozen spinach. Just be sure to thaw and drain it thoroughly before cooking.

Chicken Seasoning – Chicken seasoning is a common spice and herb blend designed to highlight the color and natural flavor of chicken. Look for it at the store or mix up your own chicken seasoning blend with your favorite poultry spices.

Expert Notes

  • Try soaking the toothpicks or skewers in water for a few minutes before using them. That way the ends won’t burn in the air fryer.
  • Enjoy wonderful stuffed chicken while it is warm; allow it to cool slightly before digging in, though! Pair it with a fresh tomato salad to complete this fresh pure plate!
  • Store any leftovers of this tasty chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat it in the air fryer or microwave for some super tasty leftovers!
