  • Large Skillet To make this very easy recipe, all you will need is a large skillet to cook the cheesy saucy beef mixture.

Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ Kilogram Ground Beef For this delicious recipe choose lean ground beef. You can also swap this ingredient for ground turkey if you prefer.
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder Adds a savory note you’ll love!
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder This handy powder brings a delightful onion flavor to the beef.
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Parsley Dried is perfect for this recipe but you can also swap it for fresh. If you do choose fresh be sure to add a little extra and chop the herbs very fine before tossing them in.
  • ½ Red Bell Pepper Diced - For color and crunch choose a red bell pepper. You can also choose to swap this pepper with a different variety of bell pepper.
  • 1 Cup Low-Fat Cottage Cheese Adds creamy richness to the cheese sauce and makes it high in protein.
  • ¼ Cup Almond Milk The smooth and nutty flavor of almond milk makes a tasty sauce in this recipe but if you prefer you can trade it for another non-dairy milk.
  • ½ Shredded Cheddar Cheese A little cheddar adds sharp cheese flavor to the burrito. If you prefer you can substitute this ingredient for a low-calorie shredded cheese or a different variety of shreds.
  • 1 Tablespoon of Enchilada Seasoning Look for this seasoning blend near the taco seasoning packets or in the baking and spice aisle of your local store.

High-Protein Low-Calorie Cheesy Beef Burrito Recipe


    • ½ kilo ground beef
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp dried parsley
    • ½ red bell pepper diced
    • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
    • ¼ cup almond milk
    • ½ shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 tbsp of enchilada seasoning


    • Cook the beef on a medium heat until almost done. Add in the garlic, onion, dried parsley, and red bell pepper, and then sauté this until the red bell pepper is soft.
    • Add in the cottage cheese, the almond milk, the shredded cheddar cheese, and the enchilada seasoning.
    • Stir until well incorporated.
    • Remove from the heat and assemble the burritos by adding some of the beef mixture to a burrito, folding in the sides, and rolling it up, keep pressing in the sides until you’re done.
    • Place the burritos in the air fryer at 200C/400F for 8 to 10 minutes.
    • Remove, let it cool, cut it up, and enjoy the crispy on the outside and juicy burrito on the inside.
