Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 1 tbsp Tamari Sauce This ingredient is like a less salty soy sauce. It’s perfect for adding some fermented flavor to this delicious chicken.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil This oil has an irresistibly toasty aroma. In a pinch you can swap this ingredient for peanut oil.
  • 1 tsp Five Spice This is a blend of spices traditionally consisting of star anise cloves, cinnamon, Sichuan pepper, and fennel seeds.
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder This ingredient adds a little welcome heat to the chicken seasonings.
  • 1 tbsp Erythritol Even savory foods need a little sweetness so this sugar-free sweetener brings a nice balance to the meal.
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt Choose fine-grain salt for this recipe.
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Flour A great low-carb gluten-free flour. This works with almond flour to make a light breading for the chicken.
  • 1/4 cup Almond Flour The other half of the breading mixture.

For the Fried Veggie Blend:

  • 1 Onion A white or yellow onion is perfect for this cook.
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper You can use just red pepper or a medley of multicolored bell peppers.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Freshly minced garlic is ideal for this recipe but jarred or frozen are great swaps.
  • 1 tsp Five Spice A hint of seasonings makes this Asian-Inspired chicken sing!
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt A touch more salt adds flavor. You can always cut the salt to suit your tastes and dietary needs.
