INGREDIENTS

For the Salad:

Mixed Greens You can have fun choosing the blend of greens for this Smoked Salmon Salad. Pick a mix of colors and textures you like or grab a clamshell of pre-mixed greens. Either way be sure to wash your greens very well before tossing this salad together.

Fresh Spinach Spinach is one of those greens that everyone likes. It has a balanced taste of mild leafy flavors and it is super easy to grow in containers and kitchen windows so you can always have fresh greens!

Cucumber This watery veggie brings brunch and freshness to the salad. When choosing a cucumber always look for vibrant deep green skin without cuts or scrapes, a firm texture, and a solid weight.

Smoked Salmon Smoked salmon is the star! This amazing preparation of salmon takes a fresh filet and cures it with smoke so every bite is luscious smoky, and intensely flavored.

Avocado Avocado is the ultimate way to add richness to fresh salads. For this Smoked Salmon Salad recipe you want an avocado with some firmness so it does not get too mushy in the salad. Choose fruit with deeply colored skin and nice firmness.

Green Olives Green olives are the little salt bombs in this salad. They add exciting savory flavor and crunch to balance all the rich smoky decadence of the fish in this fresh dish.

For the Dressing:

Olive Oil Olive oil is just right for making luscious and not too-heavy salad dressing. If you’re all out of olive oil you can try using any nut oil as a substitute for olive but the flavor will have much nuttier notes.

Lemon Juice Fresh bright, citrusy, and delicious lemon juice adds much-needed acid to this Smoked Salmon Salad recipe. Fresh squeezed is always the preference. A few tips for squeezing citrus, always zest first to get the most juice, and squeeze the fruit over a strainer so you don’t end up picking out seeds.

Fresh Parsley Fresh parsley has a green and fresh aroma that everyone agrees on.

Sea Salt and Pepper Salt and pepper are so basic that people tend to forget to think about them but they’re important ingredients! Try to choose healthy natural salt, not just table salt, and opt for freshly ground pepper whenever possible.

Expert Tips for This Smoked Salmon Salad Recipe

To make storage a cinch, mix the dressing by putting all the dressing ingredients in a mason jar and then shaking very well. When it’s time to store the excess, just pop on the lid and refrigerate!

How to Serve Smoked Salmon Salad

This lovely salad is best served cold. You can drizzle the dressing on a large bowl of this salad or let everyone apply their own. Pair it with low-carb bread, hard-boiled eggs, or cheeses to make an exciting lunch or dinner spread.
